Studying in Turkey as an Arab girl
“My first days in Turkey were a mixture of anxiety and joy”, is what pharmacy student Nadia Ibrahim wrote about the beginning of her experience in the country.
▪ “With the help of Studykoy, I completed my registration, then I started studying for the preparatory year. My friends and teachers were like family to me. So of course, we eat breakfast together, we talk about the future, we laugh and make jokes.”
▪ “I have not been exposed to any racism in Turkey during my time as an Arab student in the country.”
▪ “I like Turkey, and I mean Istanbul in particular. The abundance of transportation of all kinds, makes transportation easy, as well as the housing units equipped with guards 24/7. This gives me a sense of safety.”
▪ “I did not face any difficulty or discrimination for being a girl in this country, on the contrary, people here respect women, as they are present in all fields of work, whether they are a doctor, an employee, a saleswoman, a metro or taxi driver.”
▪ “I am very satisfied with the decision that I have taken by coming to Turkey. Furthermore, I am almost certain that it is the best decision I have taken in my life. I advise all reluctant girls to rely on God, and then choose the most appropriate option under the supervision of their parents and help of specialists, because the environment here is suitable for building their dreams.”
All in all, the student’s experience of studying in Turkey as an Arab student has been excellent.
