Haliç University was founded in 1998. It was established by the Children’s Leukemia Foundation in Turkey. It offers 5 faculties, which further consist of 21 academic departments. Likewise, there are 3 schools (the School of Nursing, the School of Physical Education and Sport, and the School of Health Sciences and Conservatory).

The new education model aims to raise qualified graduates, which keeps research and initiative as the priority. It has centered itself around creativity and design and strives to deliver solutions. The university has sought international rankings and has approximately 18,000 graduates in Turkey and the world.

The university is proud to be multidisciplinary as they offer double major and minor options in all departments with various fields of study. They have a diverse population of students which includes international students from over 70 countries. This encourages a sociable and inclusive environment. The academicians who teach at the university are well-known in their fields. Moreover, they have also contributed to their areas in academic aspects.

Furthermore, it is equipped with modern spaces which include resting zones and cafés that are designed to lift productivity and mood. The campus has all the necessary sports facilities such as volleyball, basketball, running tracks, etc. The campus also has a library which can be used by students online and on-campus via an e-library.
