Işık University was founded by the Fayza School of Waqf in 1996. It is considered one of the strongest universities that have proven its existence once it was established. The University of Işık has two campuses, one of which is located in the Maslak area in the European section and the other one in Şile.

The campus is situated on a large green area of quiet and charming nature and a beautiful view of the sea giving the students motivation to research and study.
