Gelişim University was established in the year 2008 by the Gelişim Foundation for Education, Culture, Health and Social Development. Additionally, the aim of this foundation was to create a global network based on research and to provide vocational education that is high quality. The university’s philosophy is focused on 3 basic principles. The first is to focus on success, the second is to focus on humanity and the third is to focus on research, science, and the environment.

Academic Structure

In the year, 2015-2016, the university has a total of 3 faculties, 4 higher education institutes, 3 institutes, and a vocational training institute. Moreover, by an evaluation of a total of 53 programs by an expert of the international committee, the university has been accredited by several organizations like AQAS, AHPGS, and PEARSON. These are German and British international organizations.

Ranking of Gelişim University

The times higher education has ranked Gelisim as the 16th in the world in Quality Education among 1180 universities in the world. All in all, it continued to maintain its success by ranking 1st in Turkey. Other than that, the university also achieved 5 different achievements in 5 different categories.

-Ranked 1st in Turkey in the Quality Education category,

-4th in Turkey in the category of Accessible and Clean Energy,

-Ranked 12th in Turkey in the Healthy and Quality of Life category

-12th in Turkey in the category of Clean Water and Sanitation

Student facilities

Gelisim University understands that students should be given a platform where they can easily flourish, therefore there are numerous facilities provided to the students. Altogether, the university offers a total of 138 high-tech laboratories, studios, and workshops. Moreover, there are approximately 22 research laboratories along with a huge range of student clubs to choose from.

The university is located in the European section of Istanbul in Avcilar. Furthermore, the campus provides an ideal and safe environment that is close to the quiet and modern side of Istanbul. Moreover, it is situated near the Sea of Marmara.
